PerfSONAR (PERFormance Service Oriented Network monitoring ARchitecture) is an infrastructure for network performance monitoring, making it easier to solve end-to-end performance problems on paths crossing several networks. Adoption of this open source monitoring project remains high in the R&E communities. With the addition of new communities of network users, primarily from the community anchor institutions through U.S. UCAN, assuring network performance is more vital than ever. Internet2 and partners ESnet, Fermilab, and the University of Delaware, have teamed up to produce the pS Performance Toolkit. This bootable Linux CD facilitates easy installation and configuration of a complete network monitoring solution. This talk will discuss the current state of the art in perfSONAR development and out line future plans.
